Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is sound. Original blue gilt stamped cloth, decorated end papers, 419 pages, 24 unsigned color plates of fish by S. F. Denton (fish plates include: Sea Herring, Kingfish, Rock Bass, Cod, Flat Fish, Rose Fish, Burbot, Maskalonge, Channel Bass, Calico Bass, Crappie, Yellow Mackerel, Pollack, Spotted Catfish, Flounder, Pompano, Short Pompano, Haddock, Gold Fish, Fresh-Water Drum, Hake, Whiting, Halibut, Spade Fish/Triple Tail), color plate of the beaver by Ernest Thompson Seton, drawings of outdoor scenes with captions in b & w by H. T. Watson, and numerous b & w photographs; two fold-out maps. Covers are worn, especially at corners and spine ends, small stain at fore-edge affecting blank margin of pages 124-138.
