About This Item

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Pardes Publishing House, 1945. Considering that 1945 was the year World War Two ended, I imagine this book's publication to have been quite urgent to a number of people, and as authentic as they could make it. : Fair condition Hardcover Quarto with no dust jacket, 1945, 1st edition. Edited by Abraham Burstein. A compilation of anecdotes, parables, fables, and proverbs of the Jewish people. With Illustrations, Biographies, and Portraits. The gilt embossed, red cloth spine and boards must have been stunning when the book was new. Now the gold has dulled, along with the boards which are showing some soiling and edgewear. The spine ends are chipped. Both hinges are cracked down to the webbing. The interior is unmarked but aging. NOT A REPRINT! Printed in 1945. RARE EDITION. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 4to - over 9" - 12" tall. Book.
