Uniformly bound in red cloth lettered in gilt (spines of vols. 3 & 4 lightly sun faded). Illustrated throughout with printed sheet music and occasional text photos and drawings. Bookplates on front pastedowns read, "With the Compliments of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem."

Note: Volume 5 was issued as a supplement to volumes 1-4. It also contains the index, appendix and bibliography to the preceding volumes. In later years two more volumes (6 & 7) were collected and published to complete this anthology.
