About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co. (Publishers) Ltd.. Good in Good dust jacket. 1935. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. 0837125952 . "A thorough and well-organized publicity campaign [on this topic, thus for this book] has already been launched by no less a person than the Minister of Propaganda in the Third Reich. [Its publication] therefore, comes at an opportune moment." - Translator's Preface. "I confess that I have myself been a theoretical Anti-Semite. When I was much younger I was even a practical Anti-Semite, and this for excellent reasons, becase I had had the most unpleasant experiences imaginable with Jewish userers. Had I been asked a few years ago, when I decided to study the Jewish question and to write a book on it, whether this work would turn out Anti-Semitic, my answer would most probably have been in the affirmative." - p.18. "To all Philo-Semites and to all Anti-Semites who are disposed to be fair and honest, this book offers the possibility of increasing their knowledge on the subject in question and of revising their opinions." - p. 20. "Count Heinrich Coudenhove-Kalergi (1859-1906) was an Austro-Hungarian diplomat whose postings included Athens, Rio de Janeiro, Constantinople and Buenos Aires. He spoke sixteen languages." - Wikipedia. In 1901 he wrote 'Das Wesen des Anti-Semitismus', The Essence of Anti-Semitism. Given the politics of 1930s Germany, his son, Count Richard, re-issued the book, bringing it up-to-date with an essay entitled "Jew-hatred to-day". Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi has risen to prominence in recent years as a result of his 1925 prediction that the man of the future would be of mixed race. Thus has arisen speculation of a 'Kalergi Plan' a.k.a. 'The Coudenhove-Kalergi Conspiracy', a plan to destroy the European peoples. [4]-288, 24 ads, pp. Index. Nineteen black and white illustrations. Book clean and unmarked with moderate wear to original black cloth. Gentle toning to contents. Moderate wear to the rare dust jacket now preserved in archival-grade Brodart. ; 8vo .
