About This Item
N.p.: Michigan State University, 1975. Hardcover. 4to. Black buckram with gilt lettering. v, 52pp (rectros only). Figures, tables, 8 tipped-in photographs. Fine. Sole printing of this master's thesis, tight and pristine. Contributor's copy, for the front flyleaf is handsomely signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint by the author: "thanks for all your / help -- I couldn't / have done it without you. / Chuck Edmiston Jr / August 15, 1975" -- and first person noted in the acknowledgments is Dr. R.C. Gordon, from whose library this choice copy hailed. Very uncommon, for master's theses tend to be published in miniscule numbers meant for distribution to colleagues, academic advisors and family only. Interestingly, four years later, Edmiston and Gordon together authored "Evaluation of Gentamicin and Penicillin as a Synergistic Combination in Experimental Murine Listeriosis" in the December 1979 issue of "Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy" (Vol. 16, No. 6).
