This essay on antiquarian architecture was originally delivered as a lecture to the Group Theatre. Written by John Betjeman, an English poet, writer and broadcaster who was poet laureate from 1972 until his death in 1984. He was a founding member of The Victorian Society and defender of Victorian architecture. In the original orange paper binding. Externally, very smart with light sunning to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Near Fine
