SIGNED by the author at first free endpaper, inscribed warmly in German language to Herr Germain Seligman on August 29, 1954, being a collection of art historical essays spanning 1949-1954. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Bound handsomely in gray cloth, with a lovely gilt illustration to front cover (of a shell) and gilt lettering to spine. Faint shadow from former sticker adjacent to signature. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. German language text. [6], 165 [6] pp., with Table of Contents, list of plates, etc. Special focus on those famous artists from the 17th and 16th centuries such as Jan Van Eyck, Paolo Uccello, Piero Della Francesca, Antonello Antwerpner, and then on 19th and 20th century artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Calder, Bonnard, and others.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
