Dec 1916"" along with subsequent note of ownership dated 2008. Toned pages with minor spotting to a few rear pages. DJ Condition: Poor: Very heavy wear to upper and lower edges. AUTHOR: During World War I, Frank Westbrook served in the AIF in the Field Artillery, in Egypt, Gallipoli and on the Western Front. Some of Westbrooks poems were written during the Gallipoli campaign and many of these appear in his selections, Anzac and After (1916) and Echoes of Anzac (1930). Westbrook evidently claimed not to have written a line of poetry prior to enlisting, however whether this was in fact the case remains a matter of speculation.
