About This Item
London: Gollancz, 1941. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's blue boards with dark blue spine lettering. A near fine copy (an Adelaide bookseller's ticket to the front paste-down; pages toned due to the poor quality of paper used; partial fading to the spine; and offsetting to the end-papers) in like D/W with just a hint of spine fade. The D/W has a hole where the 7/6 net has been neatly excised to the spine. This was a common occurrence with English books sold in Australia. Still a much nicer copy than normally seen of this rare wartime production. Cooper & Pike refer to this title as: "the most elusive title to find in first edition". A nice copy. Photographs/scans available upon request.
