Para: Musee Paraense de Historia Natural e Ethnographia. Fair with no dust jacket. 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. 1900-1906 four parts bound as one, 44 [7] 40 ff with black and white and sepia photographic plates, 4 title pages. Royal forto with 3/4 cloth, black cloth spine with gilt, black corners the cloth has disappeared, paper hard boards with a modernist design in green, black and brown. Spine is worn, joints starting, interior end papers with an Amerindian inspired design, front end paper has some small chips. Text pages have some small thumbing marks but otherwise clean and unmarked, paper a bit aged and toned but in nice condition. Interior in good condition, cover in fair-good condition. A scarce copy of the major work by French botanist Jaques/Jakob Huber, who went to the Amazon in the late 1890s. ; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .
