Back hinge cracked - back blank endpaper missing. 284 pages with 4 pages of ads. Upon his son's wedding day, Mr Herbert Holly - a mild and inoffensive dentist - has an exotic lady client fling her garter at him, tore her dress, then accused him of assault. He is arrested, but alluding police, disguises himself as a maiden lady. so effective is his disguise that his his son's employer becomes violently enamoured. and well, one can imagine what happnes from there! Written in novel form, this was produced as a play.. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1st. Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket.
