Faber & Faber. London. 1965. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (8.8 x 5.6 inches). A couple of small marks to the page edges otherwise a fine, bright copy of the book in a fine leather binding. Recent full red morocco, spine with five raised bands, gilt. Compartments ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Top edge gilt. A lovely copy of this classic book. Only 3100 copies of this first edition were printed.
Synopsis
The poems in Sylvia Plath's Ariel, including many of her best-known such as 'Lady Lazarus', 'Daddy' and 'Fever 103 degrees', were all written between the publication in 1960 of Plath's first book, The Colossus, and her death in 1963.
