New York: Hastings House, Publishers, 1940. Hardcover. xxv, 530p., hardbound in tan buckram boards titled brown. Find endpaper maps, foreword, preface, general information, calendar of annual events, chronology, bibliography, index, illustrations, photos and maps. Second state of the first printing per our bibliography, with spine lettering reading American/Guide/Series on three separate lines. Casing is faintly dished, cloth bears mild general handling soil with spine panel less "mild" with a smudge next to title, hinges seem good but front hinge has been strengthened with glue applied to tunnel and book is now "tight-back". Endsheet gutters are a bit toned and the first dozen leaves, along with ffep, are bumped and damp-damaged (i.e., damp-stain mars these margins, texts remain easily legible). Fair to good copy.
