THIS COPY INSCRIBED TO PRIZE-WINNING POET ANTHONY HECHT, "For Anthony Hecht, with great esteem, this volume that provoked my life-long study of poetics in pastoral + epic + in poetic sequences, represented by its latest installment -- the accompanying pamphlet, 'Virgil vs....' vindicating [illegible]. John Van Sickle, New York, 01-12-13." Beneath which is pasted Van Sickle's personal stamp. The only accompanying pamphlet present is the prospectus, INSCRIBED "For AH--the original brochure--JVS." Large, quarto volume, nearly folio-sized, 9.25 x 12.75"; gray-brown paperwraps printed in black on front only. Slightly overhanging edges mildly worn with touch of loss to head of spine, still near fine. Scarce to rare signed. ASSOCIATION COPY, INSCRIBED
