In addition to detailing the types of highly sophisticated weapons in the area. the author provides a comparison of the various aspects of military power possessed by Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. The author argues that the possession of extensive amounts of sophisticated weaponry by potential belligerents does little to enhance the possibility that disagreements will be settled by diplomacy instead of fighting.
