About This Item

London, UK Rupert Hart-Davis, 1953. Hardcover Second Edition UK (1953): First Printing Thus, so stated. This book was first published in two volumes in 1924 as part of a limited edition of Beerbohm's works. Another two-volume edition was published in New York in 1930. No other printings have been produced prior to this one. Near Fine in Very Good+ DJ: The book and DJ show only a faint, thin line of foxing - or some other form of staining - to the fore-edge; just a hint of shelving wear along the bottom edge of the green, cloth-covered boards; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, nearly-new copy. Very close to 'As New'. The DJ shows only the mildest rubbing and a hint of toning to the grey-toned background field of the backstrip; the price has been clipped; mylar-protected. Overall, very close to 'As New' in a handsome DJ, showing a couple of flaws. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (8.75 x 5.9 x 1.45 inches). xvi, 583 pages. Language: English. Weight: 1 pound, 9.7 ounces. Second Edition UK (1953): First Printing Thus, so stated. This book was first published in two volumes in 1924 as part of a limited edition of Beerbohm's works. Another two-volume edition was published in New York in 1930. No other printings have been produced prior to this one. Hardback with DJ.
