London; Thames and Hudson, 1989, 1989. Hard Cover. INSCRIBED FIRST EDITION. Square quarto, pp. 524. 406 illustrations, of which 291 in colour. Publishers' royal blue cloth with gilt titles to spine and upper board, in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Inscribed in red ink to front free endpaper: "For Roland Boyes lots of love and thanks for a lovely lunch and Pugin tour, Gilbert & George 31 Oct 1990" (Roland Boyes was a Labour MP and amateur photographer). Clean and bright, bottom corner of lower board slightly bruised. Jacket lightly sunned to spine. Well-illustrated study of the "living sculptures", the first full-length exposition of the duo Gilbert and George's art and its development since the 1960s. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
