About This Item

New York: Macmillan, 1966. This Stated First Printing (and unless it's stated, it's not) is in Fine condition with a close to Fine dust jacket that has slight creasing on the flap edges. I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. The book is bound in a salmon colored cloth with black spine letters. The author details many of the 19th and 20th Centuries' most famous heists of famous paintings, including a 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa, a $2M theft of 20 Cezannes in 1961, Nazi art thefts, etc. The binding is tight and secure. The pages are clean and white throughout, with no marks, tears, etc. Photo inserts of some stolen paintings and crime scenes are included. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches and includes 246 pages.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
