Good+ (overall soiling and shelfwear to boards; appears several plates may be missing; ribbon tie closures are tattered; Spines torn and/or missing Pages are chipped along edges. Text is clear. Plates are otherwise clean and clear.). 6 volumes bound in green paper over board portfolios, color illustrated front covers. Paged continuously through all six volumes, 241-467 text pages with bw illustrations throughout. Volumes 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 have a framed silk printed illustration. Each volume has between 7-9 bw plates with descriptive guard sheets along with multiple full page bw plates throughout text sections. Etchings, photo etchings and steel engravings. Printed in edition of 750 copies, this being numbered 49. Translated by S.T. Hooper. Edited by C.E. Clement. Includes many full page etchings from paintings and sculptures of celebrated masters.
