An introduction to the field of Japanese arts including: Painting, Colour Printing, Sculpture and Carving, Metal Work, Keramics, Lacquer, Landscape Gardening and Flower Arrangement. Each chapter ends with a Tailpiece ( Equestrian figures from the Mangwa of Hokusai; Fans from Korin Hiakuzu; and Crests ) Illustrated, ,frontis. & 28 full page plates (4 of which although listed as 'colour' are in fact black & white). 2-page list of publisher's titles to rear. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 153 + 2 pages. Spine has worked loose at edges and been re-glued in position. Endpapers browned, text block clean. Previous owner's name & college to fep.. Top edge grey; Deckled outer & bottom edges (rough cut). Black titles spine & front with gilt design ('Fukurokujiu & Crane' by Korin) to front.
