New York: D. Appleton and Co, 1870. Hardcover. Good. Preface of the second French edition by Lacroix. Preface of the editor by James Dafforne. Quarto. xix, 520pp. Illustrated with nineteen chromolithographic prints by F. Kellerhoven, and upwards of four hundred engravings on wood. Decorative purple cloth stamped in gilt, top edge gilt. Title page, preface page, and page 81 loose and laid in, some pages lightly foxed, hinges cracked, a good only copy with cloth faded and worn, tear along front joint to mid-spine, corners bumped.
