London: B.T. Batsford, 1949.. First edition. 8vo. (viii), 124 pp. Publisher's orange cloth, gilt lettered to the spine, top edge orange, dust jacket, bookplate to the front pastedown. Colour frontispiece and 32 pages of black and white photographic illustrations plus numerous illustrations in the text. Some wear and tear to the jacket edges with a small tissue repair to the verso of the rear panel, else very good. The author's account of his residence at Ashcombe from 1930 to 1945, with mentions for many of his guests. These included Rex Whistler, who contributed some of the illustrations and the design for the dust jacket.
