About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1928. First Edition. Two previous owner’s bookplates on front pastedown. A little rubbing and some slight fraying at extremities, a very good copy in an excellent facsimile dust jacket. "This narrative of some experiences during The Great War of a very insignificant member of the Intelligence Department.” Queen's Quorum, Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone, both of these lists notes how Ashenden was as an important landmark leap forward in spy fiction and an important influence on the writings of Ambler, Deighton, and especially Le Carre.
