From the collection of noted medieval scholar, linguist, and polyglot James W. Marchand, his name stamp front end page. Fine in a Very Good Plus dust jacket, small rubs at edges, light soiling, 1/2" closed tear bottom edge rear panel, the spine showing none of the common fading from green to blue. First Edition, First Printing of Chomsky's pioneering first book, which helped to earn him the distinction of "the father of modern linguistics". A quite handsome copy of an elusive and important book. . First Edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
