Washington, D.C: Gibson Bros., Printers and Bookbinders, 1895. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good. 9" x 5.75" . This booklet gives an account of the Civil War's Battle of Lookout Mountain which took place southwest of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Author Gilbert Crawford Kniffin was Lieutenant Colonel and Commander of Subs United States Volunteers whose enlistment period with the United States was 1861-1865. Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Kniffin was also a Son of the American Revolution as a descendant of Amos Kniffin and Joshua Ward. This booklet has a textured, light, grayish green cover with black lettering. Saddle stitched by two staples. 16 pp. In very nice condition, this copy shows only light wear and minimal creasing. Unmarked. Mild occasional chipping and small closed tears. Text is completely uncompromised. Pages are clean with extremely minimal foxing. A lovely copy. Full refund if not satisfied.
