About This Item

London: G. Allen & Unwin Ltd. ,. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1925. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Crimson-red cloth-covered boards with black titling to the spine and front board. No dust jacket. Page fore-edges very lightly 'toned' with age, but uniformly, with a small odd spot or two (light foxing) mainly to the bottom edge. Internally some light tanning (offsetting) to the blank free endpapers front and back, and a former owner's name in faded ink to the front pastedown ( Saul Suzman - father of the actress Janet Suzman, I believe). Overall a very clean, tight, bright copy throughout. 224 pp. Black and white frontispiece of the Author (who was the English Javelin Throwing Champion 1911 and 1923) throwing the Discus in the English Championship 1923, and various line drawn illustrations in the text. Sadly no dustjacket, but a now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Very Good. An excellent copy for its age. Quite scarce. See Images. ; British Sports Library; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall .
