Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1848. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 11" x 8.5" Oblong. Contemporary leather boards, new leather spine and spine label. Marbled edges and endpapers. 16 pp., 99 plates of maps and illustrations, incl. frontis. Plate 57 lacking in book and table of contents, other copies note a similar lack. Recently professionally rebacked. With a concise vocabulary of military and marine terms. Leather worn and cracked to boards. Some foxing and staining to interior. Map #16 shows the extent of France before the Revolution of 1789 and at the height of Napoleon's power in 1812.
