He was a leading figure in the aesthetic movement and much of his work was inspired by Japanese woodcuts. He is known for his contribution to poster styles and Art Nouveau. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpapers. No dust wrapper present. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper boards. Externally, very smart.
