He was a leading figure in the aesthetic movement and much of his work was inspired by Japanese woodcuts. He is known for his contribution to poster styles and Art Nouveau. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpapers. No dust wrapper present. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper boards. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
