Original Nineteenth Century Edition, Not The Late 20Th Century Reprint. No Date Of Publication Or Copyright Is Indicated. Inscription In Pencil On Ffep Is Dated Jan. 1874. 24 Full Page Chromolithographs [Six Per Story: Puss In Boots, Jack And The Bean-Stalk, White Cat, Hare And Tortoise]. Colors Are Bright And Illustrations Are Clean. First Front Endpaper Has Thin Pencil Lines Diagonally From Corner To Corner, From Center Top To Bottom And From Center Left To Right. Inscriptions In Pencil And A Small One In Ink On Ffep With Slight Water Staining At Fore-Edge And At Top Corner Of Fep; Inscriptions Dated Christmas 1874 And June 1913.. Reverse Of Ffep, 1St And 2Nd Free Endpapers Foxed. Title Page Lightly Foxed. Page Torn Out After Title Page (Table Of Contents?). Some Light Foxing And Soiling To Text Throughout. Spine Cracked At Beginning Of The Story "The White Cat". Cords Appear To Be Intact. Rear Free Endpapers Foxed. Back Free Endpaper Has Slight Water Stain In Upper Corner And Along Top Edge. Water Stain To Rear Endpaper At Top Corner And Along Top Edge. Paper Split At Spine. Childish Scribbles In Pencil On Both Rear Endpapers. Covers Are Worn. Large, Circular Pastedown On Front Cover Is Scratched And Soiled, But This Picture Of The Giant Sitting At His Table With His Bags Of Gold Is Intact And Distinguishable, With No Loss Of Paper. Gilt Lettering On Front Cover Is Also Intact. All Tips Are Frayed; Bottom Of Spine Frayed With Some Loss Of Cloth At Top Of Spine. Cloth Split At Rear Gutter 2" From Top And 1/ 1/2 From Bottom. Rear Cover Is Worn And Soiled. Altogether A Quite Worn Copy With Fine Examples Of All Of The Color Lithographs.
