London: Ian Allan. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1987. Hardcover. 0711017093 . 144 p. 28 cm. Sound and square red, paper-covered boards. Corners bumped. Erasures on front free endpaper, causing a bit of colour loss. Otherwise, inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Dustwrapper is rubbed with some edge and corner wear. Light long scratch on front panel. Slightly faded along top edge. Not price clipped. Illustrated with black and white photographs. The story of the Austerity locomotives built for use in Britain in World War II. Although it was expected they would be scrapped at the end of the war, 733 of them continued in use by British Railways, the last until the 1960s. .
