Cooke, the founder of Harvard University's chemistry department, here writes to an instrument maker regarding a shipment of prisms, and about the manufacture of some resistance coils about which "Sir William Thompson [sic] . . . has communicated with you. . . . Please make the coils according to his directions and inform me when they will be finished." Origins of Cyberspace 138.
