About This Item
The Hollies, Clapham Common, S.W. July 8th, 1881. 7" x 4 1/2", one page on letterhead. Sir James Knowles, (1831-1908), English architect and editor. A close friend of Tennyson, Knowles designed Aldworth for him. A founder of the Metaphyical Society, Editor of the Contemporary Review and founder of The Nineteenth Century". Letter is to a Mr. Johnson, thanking him for forwarding a letter from Howell, an "old school fellow" of Knowles. Approximately 100 words. Folded twice for mailing, else good condition..
