193, Piccadilly, London, W. June 15th 1863. 8" x 5", written on the first side of four. "Received of Mess. Chapman & Hall the sum of One Hundred guineas for the Copyright and Sketches of my work Entitled "Through Macedonia to the Albanian Lakes" - Mary Adelaide Walker /15th June 1863 / 6 Grafton Square / Clapham". Affixed is a one penny Inland Revenue stamp initialled by Walker. Born as Mary Adelaide Curtis, she was the sister of missionary C. G. Curtis. Walker also wrote "Eastern Life and Scenery, with Excursions in Asia Minor, Mytilene, Crete, and Roumania" (1886). Mailing crease, else very good..
