I am a great believer in the theory that "the only gain is in giving", therefore I always do all that my time will allow for everyone. You were fortunate in happening to write me when I had more leisure than usual. I can only write my name on the cards and return them. In the August Good Housekeeping there is something about the picture that I sent you but there is also a story, not by me, which is making us a lot of trouble. I wish that I knew what you thought of my first book. I like that one best myself. Do read it sometime. Yes, I too, hope that we shall meet. Should there ever be a chance pray write me. I am in Europe a great deal, and in New York too. But my home is here. I was interested in all that you wrote because I am deeply interested in everyone that I know at all.
