New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1978. First Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. 1978 FIRST PRINTING of First Edition 1978. This is the fully rewritten and updated version of what was published as THE AVALANCHE INIGMA in 1966. Not a reprint, but a total rewrite. Original light grey boards with gilt lettering spine. The book is in nice condition with no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding, a couple of light smudge marks on covers (see photo), sharp corners. The dust jacket is in excellent condition with no tears, no chips, no rubbing, clean, complete with original printed price on flap corner. The book measures 222mm tall x 140mm, and has 269 pages, 24 b/w photos plates, 14 sketches, large bibliography, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
