Sterling condition hardcover copy bound in tan cloth and with sharp and distinct black lettering to spine, printed, illustrated dust jacket, illustrated with faces of avant-garde artists in the pre- and post-Revolution period, 1910-1930, with unfurled tips, covered in Brodart. Edited by Stephanie Barron and Maurice Tuchman following an extensive exhibition held in the same year of the same name, and replete with several score black-and-white and full-color reproductions. Earl A. Powell III and Abram Lerner, of the Lost Angeles County Museum of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, respectively, contribute a Foreword, and then there are contributions from a number of heavy hitters in the field of art history and cultural studies, including Roman Jakobson, Vasili Rakitin, Boris Brodsky, and Alan C. Birnholz. Features 464 works by 37 other artists and two chronologies, one that plots the dominant artistic events in Russia from 1910 - 1930, and the other that plots exhibitions and publications of Russian art in the West from 1930 - 1980. 288 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
