The first edition of this novel by Julia Frankau, published under pen name Frank Danby. A very scarce edition, rarely seen on the market. Julia Frankau was a successful novelist known for her portrayal of London Jewish life. With thirty-two leaves of publisher's catalogue to rear.  In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, back strip darkened, with faint damp marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Minor light spotting to first and last few leaves, pages otherwise very clean throughout. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
