The Four Corners, New York, 1942. First Edition. Softcover (Side-stapled). Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Illustrated. Foreword by Leopold Stokowskistop throughout the book there are small black-and-white line drawings colour illustrated paperback binding with yellow coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles back strip. The author, the music critic for Good Housekeeping, and programme annotator for the Metropolitan Opera, gives a small biography of the 17th-century music composer Johann Sebastien Bach, a small discussion of his music and, correct at time of the book's publication, a listing of the various recordings of Bach's music that had been put on vinyl. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with a small insect blemish to the lower edge of the front spined gutter. Age toning of the text block edges and pages and the lower right-hand corner of the pages had become dogeared from page 78 through to the end of the book. there is a grubby mark the top right-hand corner of the free front end page and the staples are very slightly rusted.
