Unfaded green ribbed cloth boards with cover decoration (gentleman dressed for riding in red coat, black boots and riding crop in hand) black letttering with pipe, book and horn decoration, red line border, red lettering of words "old wine - old books - old friends". Black lettering and decoration on spine. Pages and edges are clean. Clean decorated endpapers; no names, no foxing; neatly penned previous owner name and date neatly penned on half title page. 29 poems, ballads and drinking songs, written for men's enjoyment, with brown pen & ink drawings. 159 pages. Includes "The Angler's Wish" by Izaak Walton, "Drinking Song", by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "A Farewell to Tobacco", by Charles Lamb, "A Wet Sheet and a Flowing Sea" by Allan Cunningham, and many more..
