New York: Macmillan. Good in Good dust jacket. 1966. Second Printing. Hardcover. 310 p. 23 cm. Sound and square binding in illustrated boards. Rub wear to bottom edges and spine ends. Corner tips lightly bumped with a tiny split to bottom front. Text block edges somewhat grimy. Library card pocket on rear endpaper is only sign of previous library life. Erased name and address on front free endpaper. Inside pages are generally clean and unmarked. Dustjacket has wear to the edges, spine ends and corners, including some short tears. Lightly soiled. A mid twentieth century edition of this classic children's tale of Little Diamond's travels with the North Wind. Illustrated with six colour plates and additional full pages pen and ink drawings. Synopsis

At the Back of the North Wind is a children's book by George MacDonald. It was serialized in the children's magazine Good Words for the Young beginning in 1868 and was published in book form in 1871. It is a fantasy centered around a boy named Diamond and his adventures with the North Wind. Diamond travels together with the mysterious Lady North Wind through the nights.
