A tight, clean, sound copy in burgandy paper covered boards half bound in burgandy cloth with gold lettering and graphics on the spine and with embossed dark red endpapers with very minor overall shelf wear plus the usual library stamps and label on the top outside paper edges, front endpaper, and title page plus the dust jacket endflaps are glued down to the inside surface of the boards. the dust jacket shows no visible signs of wear plus there is the usual library label on the back top center plus the endflaps are glued down to the inside surfaces of the boards. This is the second collection of poems by the author. These poems balance realistic and surrealistic narratives and record the journey of a woman reeling from the loss of her youth, the death of a closs friend, and the loss of religious faith as she moves towards love and marriage. The author is a winner of the "Discovery"/The Nation Prize, the Gordon Barber Memorial Award of The Poetry Society of America, a writing fellowship from The Rhode Island State Council for the Arts, and the Bullis Kizer Award from Poetry Northwest.
