New York, E.P. Dutton and Co, 1938, hardcover, xiv-269 pp, First U.S. Edition stated, Very Good condition, lacking dustjacket. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, small spots to topstain, a bit of fade to head and heel of spine and top board edges, endpapers age-toned. Illustrated with 57 reproductions of photographs by the author, 10 drawings by E.N. Prescott. and an illustrated map by H.W. Hawes. The author's first book, a collection of personal observations of life in the city written when she was employed at The Baghdad Times newspaper, and originally published by them. This American edition is expanded to include further essays on local life and customs and a large selection of illustrations.
