About This Item

1910. Very good condition. The famed Russian scene and costume designer worked extensively with Sergei Diaghilev circle and the Ballets Russes, for which he designed exotic, richly colored sets and costumes. The pencil drawing is of a woman dancing, in pantaloons and a flowing peach colored scarf wreathing her head. It was possibly a costume for "Scheherazade" a Ballet Russes production performed in 1910.

Unsigned. Beautifully and archivally framed. Drawing approx. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, frame approx. 13 x 15"
