Limited large paper edition of Austin Dobson's anthology of verses with illustrations by the celebrated artist Hugh Thomson. One of four-hundred and fifty large paper copies printed, this number one-hundred-and-four. Volume of eighteenth century verses from poet and essayist Austin Dobson. Of those included, the most famous and longest ballad is the titled 'The Ballad of Beau Brocade,' dealing with the exploits of dandy highwayman Beau Brocade, later protagonist of Baroness Orczy's novel 'Beau Brocade' (1907) and its play of 1908, as well as a 1916 silent film adaptation of the same name. Featuring fifty illustrations by Hugh Thomson, of which twenty-six are in full page, including frontispiece. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full cream cloth binding. Externally sound with bumping to head and tail of spine. Red staining mark to rear board, boards generally soiled, back strip darkened. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to endpapers, pages otherwise bright and clean. Good
