Privately Printed, 1959. First edition. Edition limited to 1250. Full leather. Very good. No dust jacket. In slipcase. In clear plastic dustwrapper. Card laid in conveying the keepsake; it is signed Bob Snead.. 48, [2] p. Note on the Songs. Printed at the Kingsport Press, Inc., Kingsport TN. This Keepsake NO. 4 was printed in an edition of twelve hundred fifty copies, solely for distribution among its friends. The plates and been destroyed. There will be no reprint. The book was designed by Andor Braun and set in Linotype Primer. The Kingsport Press was founded in 1922 and closed its doors in 2006, printing millions of books and Bibles through the decades that were sold and read around the world. The Kingsport Press was purchased by Arcata Graphics in 1969, then by Quebecor World during the 1990s. Priof to Paul Angle going to Japan at the invitation of the State Department to deliver the Lincoln Sesquicentennial Lectures and before Earl Schenk Miers became the editor-in-chief of the Lincoln Sesquicentennial COmmission, these two friends used the songs of the war to recapture an American emotion and produced this book for the Kingsport Press.
