Good. 8vo, red cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 211pp of ballads and poems chronologically ordered, starting with one on Boadicea A.D. 61, through King Canute, Robin Hood, Chevy Chase, Flodden Field, Cromwell and many more, ending in 1854 with the Charge of the Light Brigade. Followed with notes on the historical relevance, context and glossary. While the title indicates that these cover just English history, several include Scotland and the borders. Some damp staining and bend to rear board.
