About This Item

New York: Putnam's Sons, (1955). First edition. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs. One of the scarcer titles in Putnam's Sports Series "The Big League Library" and "wholesome sports reading for baseball fans, young and old" per Commissioner of Baseball Ford Frick (as quoted on the jacket). Very nearly fine with only minor shelf wear; in very good spine-toned and somewhat edge-rubbed dust jacket with light creasing, shallow chip at head of spine, and internal tape repair to few tears. Still, bright and attractive.
