US: Grosset & Dunlap, 1939. Hardback. Very Good -/Good +. Translated by Barthold Fles and illustrated by Kurt Wiese and Erna Pinner. Emerald green cloth over boards with black particulars to spine and black decoration and particulars to front board. Previous owner's signature to first free endpaper; pages have tanning to margins, but are otherwise clean and unmarked. Text block is soiled; top edge sprayed maroon; fore edge is deckled. Endpages are soiled at gutter. Boards are bright with rubbing and bumping to edges, corners and ends of spine; tear to headcap of spine. Binding is tight; spine slightly leans. Dust jacket has rubbing, creasing, closed tears and chipping to edges, corners and ends of spine particularly to headcap and top edge. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket.
