About This Item
The Bank of England Note by A. D. MacKenzie.
Hardback, 1953, first edition, with black and white illustrations, published by The Syndics of the Cambridge University Press, 163 pages + x.
Sextodecimo size (5" x 7.5") with dark blue/black cloth boards and spine and cream dust jacket. Dust jacket is worn, with tears and chips as well as marking, foxing and scuffing, whilst front inner flap has been clipped (though unclear why as original price is visible on a different part of the flap). Some damp staining to binding and endpapers but contents of book are good. Boards and spine very marked and scuffed, top of spine has lost rigidity. Corners a little bumped. Binding reasonably firm though a bit strained in places. A little marking to page edges but generally clean. Page surfaces quite clean, some rubbed out pencil writing on FFEP, the odd bit of marking throughout but no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
