About This Item

London; Michael Joseph, 1987., 1987. Hard Cover. FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. [10], 390. 22 images to 4 double-sided photographic plates to centre. Publisher's black cloth with silver titles to spine in an unclipped, pictorial dust-jacket. Very slight bruising to spine tail and light toning to upper page block edges; dust-jacket shows small areas of light creasing to edges. Overall a very clean, neat volume; Near Fine book in like jacket. Unashamedly written without input from the Church of Scientology by an investigative journalist, this comprehensive biography of science-fiction writer-turned-founder of the Church of Scientology, which chronicles Hubbard's bizarre life from childhood to his disappearance from public life in 1980 and subsequent death six years later.
